Campin’ the Cumberland Vintage Camper Rally
September 24 - September 27$60
Somernites Cruise and Pulaski County Park are teaming up for the 4th Annual Campin’ the Cumberland Vintage Camper Rally Sept. 24-27 at Pulaski County Park.
Last year’s rally included more than 40 vintage campers.
Check-in day is Thursday, Sept. 24. The day is open to set up and explore the area ( including Cumberland Falls, Big South Fork Scenic Railway, Historic Mill Springs Grist Mill, Mill Springs Civil War Battlefield, Haney’s Appledale Farms, etc.) all within a 5-minute to 45-minute drive of the campground.
A meet and greet event will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at Danny’s Rod Shop, followed by an open house from 2:30-5:30 p.m. at the campground. The Friday Night Thunder block party will be that evening at Somerset Mall, about 10 minutes from the campground. All campers are invited to attend. There are 400 to 500 classic/collector cars and trucks. The event is free and includes live music and inflatables for children.
Somernites Cruise is Saturday, Sept. 26, in historic downtown Somerset (also about 10 minutes from the campground). Gates open at 1 p.m.
Organizers hope to have seven to 10 vintage campers and vintage tow vehicles to display downtown. Somernites Cruise, a free event, features 1,200 to 1,500 classic/collector cars and trucks and about 10,000 spectators at the September show.
The cost of the Campin’ the Cumberland Vintage Camper rally is $60 total for three nights, and that includes an event decal. Event T-shirts will be available.
